This institution’s goal is to professionally and socially integrate 18 to 25 year-olds, just out of school and without a job.
The architectural intervention looked to highlight the existing building’s potential to offer a fulfilling environment to the students and an architectural identity to the school. The building has been redesigned : removal of the wooden floors, of a portion of the bearing walls, of the cover, of the technical equipment, and complete redesign of the façades. A training course room, an enterprise center and a computer room were added.
In the front, we surpassed the fire safety constraint by inserting an outside staircase served by passageways, external spaces dedicated to the students. The façade, created with metallic tubes and plates, is a reminder of train tracks.
