EURALILLE CINEMA

EURALILLE CINEMA

living and evolving place
new cultural center
environmental approach

A project in two parts, one hard, the other lighter and more adaptable for hosting events of all kinds. This will create a dynamic and animated atmosphere in the square that will be constantly renewed. A modular architecture, which could be easily assembled and disassembled according to the needs. The collaborative participation of users in this work would be a plus for its development. Occupy the square: thanks to a modular urban furniture, meeting spaces are created. It is no longer just a place to pass through but a stop that users can appropriate. The square thus becomes a place of articulation between Euralille, the TGV station and the garden.

More than a cinema, it is a question here of thinking in terms of programmatic mix, a new cultural centrality in the east of Lille. Here as a café-theater. Play structures for children that can be transformed into a stage for shows, concerts, sports events or public readings. The possibility of a fixed commercial activity (bookshop) or ephemeral with a market of local products.

The idea is to bring nature into the heart of the site, with a square designed as a park combining green and mineral spaces. It is also an opportunity to develop a new eco-system in this space and to integrate uses such as shared gardens and urban vegetable gardens. The building itself participates in this integration of nature, through facades or a green roof, accessible or not. Addressing the issue of energy, making the building autonomous (solar production, waste management, water treatment, heat reuse, etc.). To be integrated into a dynamic of exchange with Euralille. Responsible construction: flexibility of structures, dry assembly, natural ventilation and lighting. Use of bio-sourced and sustainable materials (wood, earth, etc.)
